some of the student media at SCSU, and some of Ryan's teammates gave him the nickname "Pony"...You'd need to ask him, as to when EXACTLY he started being called "Pony"...

Yeah.. I've always called him Maloney..most of Husky Hockey Country called him Maloney.. some of his ex-teammates would call him "Pony", too...He's never had an issue with being called Maloney (or Pony)... I miss seeing him play!

yeah, ryan pretty much said the same thing during an interview, that they did not approach him with a contract. it left him no choice but to look at other offers :)

If you had any knowledge at all you would know that Pitt did not offer Ryan a contract. He didn't have a choice but to leave. There was even an article in ESPN the mag about how Pitt didn't even approach him.

yes, i know that, but after how hard that team worked last year to get outed in game six and with the punishment ryan took - hit by kronwall and slapshot by gill, it must be difficult, but that is just my opinion.
